Link Exchange Can Bring Traffic
Even though some people claiming that PR has no more influence on getting lots
of traffic for your website, it is still important to have high pagerank. At
least, we know Google still updates it often, every three or four months. So
what is pagerank based on? The answer is the quality of inbound links going into
your website. The following methods ensure you to have good and higher pagerank
in the future.
When doing link exchange, never ever link to or even submit your link to what is
called link farm or self added link directory. These link farms normally do not
approve websties and categorize links into related contents. This extremely
hurts your website quality in the view of spiders. Unless the link submission is
to be moderated, don’t even bother submitting it.
Try exchanging link with good partners. Sometimes when someone ask for link
exchange, try not just look at their pagerank. It is possible that the website’s
pagerank is not yet updated but the website itself has been indexed in a lot of
directories. If this is true, its pagerank will be on the fly within 2 or 3
months. Thus, always look further and wider. In addition, try to analyze the
website internal search engine saturation. Meaning, how many pages have been
indexed. If it has 2000 pages but only 80 pages get indexed, this is a real bad
partner, don’t bother. However, if it has 100 pages and already has 80 pages get
indexed, what are you still waiting for?
Building link partners with related content. This is one way to boost your
pagerank. Try always exchange with partners that have less outbound links. A
partner that has 200 outbound links is not a good partner. You can try search
your own targetted keyword in the search engine and visit the top 30 websites
indexed. See which of these are allowed for link exchange. Usually, these
websites already have certain amount of pagerank and quality traffic.
